Building in Tyler

Tyler is the anchor of our East Texas work, and it is genuinely different ground from the western end of our area.

The soil is sandier and the trees are pines rather than post oaks, which changes both how a post behaves and what the finished thing has to sit alongside. Less seasonal heave than the clay to the west, but less grip too.

Wooded lots also make clearing and access part of the scope more often than not. Where the fence line actually runs is a decision made standing on it, not on a plat.

The ground

What's underneath.

Sandy loam over the East Texas timber belt. It drains faster than the clay to the west and holds a post differently — less seasonal heave, but less grip, which means depth and concrete matter for different reasons.

Anyone can set a post. The question is what happens to it.

Permits and HOAs

Requirements differ between cities, and again between a property inside city limits and one out in the county. We confirm what applies to your address during the scope and pull what's required — rather than guessing at it in advance.
